Fort Gordon Real Estate

Ft Gordon is located in Richmond County of Augusta Georgia just miles from the Augusta Regional Airport. The economic impact of Fort Gordon is felt throughout the CSRA.

Camp Gordon was named for LTG John Brown Gordon, a native Georgian, soldier, legislator, and businessman. It was created in July 1941 as a World War II training camp. Following WWII, the camp was designated a U.S. Army Personnel and Separation Center.

Two major schools were brought to the Fort Gordon Real Estate area in 1948: the Military Police School and the Signal Corps Training Center. The Military Police School remained at Camp Gordon until 1975. In the 1950’s, the Korean War led to a major expansion of the Signal Corps Training Center, making it the largest single source of Army communications specialists. All Army information technology and communications training is conducted at Ft Gordon, ranging from training for new enlistees to NCO and officer basic and advanced training. A partnership with the National Science Center-Fort Discovery in Augusta, the Army and Ft Gordon are directly involved in teaching math, science and technology to school children and faculty throughout the U.S.

The Fort Gordon Real Estate area is home to the 249th General Hospital, a 500-bed tactical field hospital. The Commanding General of Eisenhower Army Medical Center also serves as Chief of the Army Medical Corps, and as the Commander of the SE Regional Medical Command. Ft Gordon is also home to the SE Regional Dental and Veterinary Commands. Eisenhower conducts Army graduate medical education, Students from the Medical College of Georgia conduct some of their training at Eisenhower. Eisenhower Army Medical Center has 16 formal partnerships with area medical facilities, Ft Gordon is developing a Disaster Medicine Center of Excellence.

The 513th Military Intelligence Brigade operates out of Ft Gordon. The 359th Signal Brigade Headquarters, 324th Tactical Signal Battalion and B/878th Engineering Construction Company are located on Fort Gordon which is part of US Army Reserve and National Guard. Gordon Lakes a 27 hole golf course is one of the best in the Fort Gordon Real Estate area.

Fort Gordon, formerly known as Camp Gordon, is a United States Army installation established in 1917. It is the current home of the United States Army Signal Corps and Signal Center and was once the home of "The Provost Marshal General School" (Military Police). The fort is located in Richmond, Jefferson, McDuffie, and Columbia counties, Georgia. The main component of the post is the Advanced Individual Training for Signal Corps military occupational specialties. In 1966–68 the Army's Signal Officer Candidate School (located at Fort Monmouth during World War II and the Korean War) graduated over 2,200 Signal officers. Signals Intelligence has become more visible and comprises more and more of the fort's duties.
